I'm taking time out for nature!

Hi all,

I want to celebrate nature and show my appreciation for what we have.  So, I am taking time out for nature and have joined the worlds biggest movement to protect our planet. By moving my body and raising vital funds from my Earth Hour Challenge 60, I will be helping to protect and regenerate nature - restoring the planet for everything that calls it home.

I am shining a spotlight on nature loss to give Earth a brighter future. Help me in my challenge by sponsoring me today.

My Updates

Day 22

Sunday 23rd Mar
We did it!!!  82Km's, 22.5 hours, and $553 raised.

Thank you to all who supported me during this challenge!  You are amazing!!!

Day 21

Friday 21st Mar
A good walk for both pooches this morning before the expected rain sets in.  Birdlife is noisy today, lots of action at the park during Kenny's walk.

Frankie is donating today,  we counted the number of times she stopped for a sniff and/or tinkle!  31 times...

Day 19

Wednesday 19th Mar
Wednesday wind down after a good walk.  Kennys' favourite place in the world...

I can not believe there are only 3 days to go!  Thanks so much to all who have donated to this cause.

Day 18

Tuesday 18th Mar
Frankie has the best smile!  Nothing makes her happier than a trot out to the dog park, outside of keeping the birds out of the back yard!

Day 17

Monday 17th Mar
If Nature had a dollar for every time Kenny sniffed a tree today... Nature would be $27 better off.   Kenny made his first donation feeling happy for clocking up the km's!

Day 16

Sunday 16th Mar
Today I experienced something really special.  We took a drive down south and participated in a creative workshop to connect and experience Illawarra gum trees.

We learnt about forest red gum, Wollongong wooly bark, grey iron bark, and the black bark... and all the creatures who call these trees home.

Day 15

Saturday 15th Mar
You know when you have taken too many pics of mushrooms when your pooch looks exhausted at the beginning of a walk.  Too hot to take a snap shot today!

Day 13

Thursday 13th Mar
Frankie putting on all the charms. I  was taking too long to get organised... we gotta beat the heat!

Day 12

Wednesday 12th Mar
Making up for some lost time after a rainy day.  Big walks for both pooches, and some mobility yoga for me.  Today was such fun, all the birds are out,  squawking and talking,  as they forage across the grass.

Day 10

Monday 10th Mar
Lots of out and about today.  Kenny clocked up his hour as we hit some new pavement, and Frankie had a ball at the park with a couple of her regular buddies.

Day 9

Sunday 9th Mar
Enjoying a Sunday evening stroll with hubby and pooches.  Rounding out a full weekend with some gentle exercise.

Day 7

Friday 7th Mar
Sending our thoughts and love to all those affected by cyclone Alfred.   Mother Nature can be a cruel mistress,  and we wish for you all to be safe during this disaster event.

Day 6

Thursday 6th Mar
Frankie was a woman on a mission today!  No time for looking at gardens and smelling the roses.

Day 5

Wednesday 5th Mar
Kenny and I got a special treat today, while we were out and about.  The dog park was empty today, not a person or pooch in sight, so we took a rare opportunity to play ball off leash.   Kenny had the best time racing around and chasing  ball.

Celebrate the simple moments as they come!

Day 4

Tuesday 4th Mar
Short and Sweet, both Frankie and I only did a blocky today.  We still took a moment to enjoy one of our favourite gardens.

Day 3

Monday 3rd Mar
The cooler weather is a welcome change, Kenny and I enjoyed the cool breeze as we walked around the neighbourhood.  The princess flower trees are all a bloom at the moment!  These trees have a mass of gorgeous purple flowers and are great for bees, butterflies and other pollinators.

Day 2

Sunday 2nd Mar
Sunday mornings at the Hunts Creek Reserve is one of our favourite places to go.  Not only is a wildlife sanctuary, it's also a place hubby and I enjoy together with the pooches.   Kenny, our big fella, is always first in the car....

Shout out to the local birds and regenerated vegetation!!

Day 1

Saturday 1st Mar
Meet Frankie... she is one of my support team, and loves a walk through the park.  What a fabulous way to start earth hour challenge.

I finished the hour with mobility stretches without Frankie, she has been banned from the yoga mat due to her lack of focus!!

Only a few days to go!

Wednesday 26th Feb
Kenny and I have been hitting the pavement round the neighbourhood.  We are in good shape and happy to be making a move for nature!

Getting Ready!

Friday 14th Feb
Took the big boy out for a test drive.... let's just say his enthusiasm was well communicated.  This is the best selfie I could achieve for this walk.
