Can You Support Earth Hour?
In 2017, WWF is celebrating 10 years of Earth Hour and 10 years of progress on changing climate change.
A decade ago, Earth Hour began as a symbolic movement to allow ordinary families and businesses a simple way to show their support for action on climate change. But recent developments have shown us that there are still many challenges on the road to changing climate change. Governments worldwide need to recognise that climate change is a global threat to our future, and we need commitment by governments to implement policies to phase out fossil fuels and embrace renewable energy. As well as to help communities most at risk from climate change.
It's time to ramp up our efforts. As the world stands at a climate crossroads, it is powerful yet humbling to think that our actions today will decide what tomorrow will look like for our future generation.
With 90% brand recognition and one in four Australians taking part, in 2017 we have an incredible opportunity to place climate change and renewable energy front and centre on the global agenda.
We're working with community groups and organisations around Australia to build power at a grassroots level and turn Earth Hour from a one-off moment to a powerful movement for change.
Regular donations are critical to our ability to manage our large team of volunteers across the country with certainty around our budget. We do what we can with very little, but it all adds up.
Your donation will fund work with community groups and organisations around Australia to build power at a grassroots level. Together, we will turn Earth Hour from a one-off moment to a powerful movement for change.
